About CRI

An Outreach Ministry by Freedom Life Church

Jim Greene had a vision to establish an outreach program to help needy children within his local and surrounding Appalachian Mountain communities. In 2015, he founded Children’s Redeemed International (CRI), a Christian-based nonprofit organization that seeks to teach children about Jesus Christ with love and compassion in the form of action and substance.

With support from his wife, Phyllis, and a small group of friends, Jim started CRI outreach through the Cathedral of Faith Christian Center in Summerfield, NC. Now, the CRI ministry is under the umbrella of Freedom Life Church in Ashboro, NC, and is overseen by Pastor Ben Chavis.

The organization is completely dependent on volunteer-based service to ensure that 100% of all funding is used directly in aiding children and communities in need.

In 2016, CRI partnered with Pastor Mon Igbinosa, who serves over 4,000 churches in Nigeria. Many of these churches are located in remote areas and can only be accessed by motorcycle. CRI was able to raise funds to purchase several new motorcycles for the associate pastors serving the people in these hard-to-reach villages. CRI also provided funds for a new well to provide the village with clean drinking water.

CRI was also able to use 100% of raised funds to benefit the small village of Rang, located along the Guan River in central Haiti. For over a century, the children of the village had endured the hardship of having to climb a nearby mountain daily to fill buckets with potable water and carefully haul them back down to the village below. To help remove this hardship, CRI installed a waterline from the mountain spring directly into the village center, located 1.5 miles away.

The success of this small project is truly astonishing, as the community was able to grow and thrive. A new church, school, general store and 25-acre produce farm were established shortly after. Then came a community farmer’s market, general store, sewing factory, dress shop, bakery, welding shop and shoe factory. The construction of an orphanage is now underway. CRI was also able to help fund the construction of a large village playground with swings, a tetherball court, volleyball area and soccer field.

Within a few short months, the village of Rang, Haiti will be a self-sufficient and self-sustaining community.

CRI’s goal and mission is to replicate this community model in impoverished villages around the world. Please watch the video available HERE for a more comprehensive understanding of what God has done and is doing through Children’s Redeemed International.
